How we support our claims

Mavira content and quality standards

Mavira separates product facts, operating experience, general educational guidance, and individualized dental advice. We aim to state prices and quantities precisely, explain what the mail-in process can and cannot do, link health guidance to authoritative sources, and correct material errors when they are identified.

What our experience statement means

Mavira has made custom retainers for more than five years. We use that statement narrowly: it describes the length of the company's hands-on operating experience making retainers. It is not presented as a founding date, a clinician's credential, a certification, a regulatory approval, or proof that Mavira produces a better clinical outcome than another provider.

When we describe a product or process, we prefer a specific, checkable statement over a superlative. “One set contains one upper and one lower retainer” is more useful than “best value.” “Returned impressions are reviewed for fabrication” is more precise than implying that a remote lab review is a complete dental examination.

How we verify different kinds of claims

Claim type Primary evidence How we present it
Price, quantity, availability, and offer terms The active product record, product page, checkout, and written store policies Total price and required quantity appear together; the product page and checkout remain the source of truth.
Mavira process and operating experience Current internal workflow and company records We describe observed steps without adding unverified credentials, dates, materials, or performance claims.
General retainer care and safety guidance Orthodontic associations, government health services, hospitals, and other authoritative primary guidance We summarize in plain language, link the source, identify uncertainty, and defer to the reader's treating professional.
Individual diagnosis or treatment choice A licensed professional's evaluation of that individual We do not make the diagnosis. We identify signs that should prompt professional or urgent care.
Customer experience The specific customer's experience and the context in which it was collected An anecdote is not used as proof that every customer will have the same outcome.

Our source hierarchy for educational pages

1. Direct and authoritative guidance

We prioritize sources such as the American Association of Orthodontists, government health services, and hospital patient instructions for general retainer guidance.

2. Current product records

We use Mavira's active catalog and written policies for commercial facts. Educational pages should not silently override the current product page or checkout.

3. Clear attribution and limits

When sources differ, we say so and choose a conservative default rather than creating false certainty. We do not turn general guidance into a personal prescription.

Core references used across Mavira's retainer guides include the AAO retainer overview, its guidance on tight retainers and cleaning and care, the NHS orthodontic treatment overview, and the FTC's advice on buying health products and services online.

How we explain Mavira's mail-in process

Product selection

The customer selects one, two, or three matched upper-and-lower sets and confirms the current total at checkout.

At-home impressions

The kit supplies the process used to capture upper and lower shapes. The customer follows the instructions and returns the impressions.

Fabrication review

The returned impressions are reviewed for whether they can support fabrication. This is not represented as an oral examination or diagnosis.

Custom production and support

The selected quantity is made from accepted impressions. Shipping, fit-support, and refund questions follow the current written terms and order-specific review.

Our pricing and offer standard

Unit pricing must be attached to the quantity required to receive it. Mavira's current options are $120 for one upper-and-lower set, $150 for two sets, and $180 for three sets. The three-set package costs $180 total and equals $60 per set. We do not describe that as a $60 single-set product.

Prices, availability, shipping details, promotions, and policies can change. The active product page, checkout, shipping overview, and official refund policy control over an older educational summary.

Our medical-safety boundaries

Mavira educational content does not diagnose, prescribe active tooth movement, or replace routine and urgent dental care. Retainers are described as appliances that help maintain tooth position, not as aligners that actively move teeth.

Pages about a tight, broken, worn, or poorly fitting retainer should identify clear escalation points. These include a retainer that will not seat, significant or persistent pain, visible tooth movement, a changed bite, swelling, bleeding, sores, loose teeth, suspected decay, and other active dental concerns. Significant injury, uncontrolled bleeding, trouble breathing or swallowing, and other emergencies require urgent care.

Corrections and updates

If you identify a factual error, broken source, inconsistent price, or unclear health statement, use the Mavira contact page. Include the page URL, the exact statement, why it may be wrong or incomplete, and a supporting source when available.

Mavira should verify the report against the appropriate evidence, correct material errors, and review linked pages for the same issue. A change in product price or policy should be reflected in commercial summaries; a change in authoritative health guidance should prompt review of affected educational content. Minor style edits should not be presented as substantive medical review.

How readers should use these pages

Use Mavira guides to understand terminology, prepare questions, compare visible product terms, and recognize when professional help is appropriate. Check the linked source when a detail matters to your decision. Use your dentist or orthodontist for individualized recommendations, especially when tooth position, bite, pain, treatment history, or oral health is involved.
